Retiring to South Florida in 1995, Myrna has concentrated bringing her love of nature and her love of photography together. She has taken many workshops at the Palm Beach Photographic Center and has studied with such nationally acclaimed nature photographers as Helen Longest Slaughter, Arthur Morris, and Pat Gerlach. Recently, she had the privilege to study with Jack Wild participating in his Masters Class at the Old School Square Creative Arts School, Delray Beach, FL. Currently Myrna is a student of Lee Gordon in his Masters Class also at Old School Square Creative Arts School. Learning photography from such a diversified group of teachers gave Myrna a firm foundation in expressing her photographic talents.
Myrna is a Signature Member of the Boca Raton Museum Artists Guild and a juried member of Women in the Visual Arts, Inc. Myrna was also juried in to the prestigious National Association of Women Artists in 2016 and has been a longstanding member of the Photographic Society of America. She has won numerous awards in local juried competitions and has had her work on exhibit in the All Florida Annual Juried Competition and Exhibition, In Focus, Cornell Museum of Art & History, Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, Coral Springs Museum of the Arts, Nathan Rosen Gallery, Boca Raton, Women in the Visual Arts, Inc. juried shows, and The Gallery of the National Association of Women Artists in New York City.
Myrna states: “I am passionate about my photography and print all my images, spending hours in the “Light Room”. This gives me a true sense of freedom in expressing my work. I want my work to enhance my viewers’ imaginations and to lift their spirits. I hope that what I see with my heart becomes what the viewer sees with their eyes.”
