Maxine Schreiber received her B.A. Fine Arts degree from Kean University, New Jersey in 1969. She taught oil painting and exhibited her work in the 70's and early 80's in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she was a juried member of the Cambridge Art Association. After receiving a Masters Degree in Expressive Therapies from Leslie University, she put painting aside to practice as a psychotherapist for over 20 years.
In 2001 she picked up her brushes again and has been painting ever since. In 2005, she closed her practice to devote her full time to her passion. In addition to WITVA, Maxine is also a member of Artist's of Palm Beach County (APBA), and National Association of WomenArtists (NAWA), and her paintings have been exhibited in numerous juried shows, museums, galleries, Art in Public Places, and solo exhibits.
A writer as well as an artist, she is a former columnist for BestofArts.com, the IndianRiverArtNews.com, and Examiner.com has published close to two hundred articles that bring the public's attention to the art community. In April, 2014 she wrote, illustrated, and published the children's picture book, The Story of DAPHNE the Duck, which is available on Amazon.com
