To Support Student Artists with Scholarships and Awards
To Provide Grants to High School Art Teachers for Classroom Supplies
To Share The Visual Arts with Our Community
WE RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT HIGH SCHOOL ART BY GRANTING AWARDS AND GIVING SUPPLIES TO TALENTED ART STUDENTS, DESERVING ART TEACHERS AND ART PROGRAMS.
WOMEN IN THE VISUAL ARTS WAS FOUNDED BY A SMALL, ENTHUSIASTIC GROUP OF WOMEN IN 1989 TO SERVE ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY NEEDS IN ART AS A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION.
WITVA has been a welcoming organization for women artists for over thirty-five years! Through the years, we have given programs, gatherings to our members and gifts to deserving students, schools and art teachers throughout Southeast Florida.
For the next few years, WITVA will be using their 501c3 status as a charitable organization and continue to give gifts and scholarships where deserving. However, other programs will be discontinued until we have new leadership, either an individual or a team has been effective. A new leader or new leaders can determine the size and scope of their position.
If anyone is interested in applying for a leadership role, please contact Susan Chorney Lewine and Susantimothychorney@gmail.com.

Kindness Rock Project: local sponsor, Susan Devine Clark, Art Educator in Broward County.
This project began after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS tragedy occured on February 14, 2018.
Rocks were created by students and community members to create gardens and memorials for the 17 who died on that day. Since then, rocks have been created (upon request for specific gardens, parks and memorials) in honor of students who have died by suicide or in honor of other people who have suffered loss. A volunteer group meets each first Monday of the Month at the Deerfield Beach Cultural Center 5-7pm to paint rocks. All are welcome to attend and paint. All supplies are provided. You will also see booths/tables set up at local festivals and events to help support this worthy project. WITVA will be helping this organization this year!
Sponsor, District of Palm Beach County, Dr. Simone RamosThis summer art camp has been designed to support students with special needs to give them an outlet for creative processing. Art materials are supported and donated by local community members for this summer camp. They expect to have more than 76 students attending. Sign ups are still coming in. Any donation of materials is appreciated. WITVA will be helping them out this year!
Our nonprofit organization has also committed to supporting ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teachers who incorporate art curriculum into their lessons, as many of these students learn in different ways and the Arts are one of them. Please consider giving to our awards fund so we may carry on our mission. Thank you!
